Is UsRulingUs ineffective?
If we think, that all legal activities on principle will stay without any effect, then we must consider UsRulingUs as being useless and negligible. In this case, we are looking at the present circumstances as a superiority, using its laws and executive bodies as a bunker. We will not see a real chance to bring in, or to put through our requests and concerns. We will stop in front of the bunker to stare at it, being unaware of our own power.
UsRulingUs proceeds in another way. Wether or not power will bunker itself, this shall be left to power's own resources. History is not made by rulers, neither by ruling theories of knowledge, ideologies, schools of thinking, or other drifts of judgement-power, but it's made by the masses' actual way of life. Leo Tolstoi was the first one to realize this, when he researched on Napoleon's expedition against Russia. Nowadays this insight almost goes without saying.
Internet itself is an eloquent example. It turned to a part of the way of life, life would be unthinkable without it. Of course, power is using the web for its own purposes, but also the ruled ones will do nothing but the same. All depends on how this is done, namely by the majority. Writing had been a very similar historical issue. In the beginning writing was a ruling instrument of first degree. Who couldn't read and write, he or she must have turned pale when facing a decree or a sermon. Now writing is common knowledge. Once a tool got established in the way of life, no one can retrospectively change this way of life again.
But what might be a “right” use of the web?
UsRulingUs is not striving for power, not in any country, nor in any state of this world. This cannot be done by means of the web, anyway. Still, it ain't necessary after all. UsRulingUs aims at the way of life, which shall be developed consciously, and shall be shaped globally. This will happen besides of power's palaces or bunkers, in a way much alike, as all of us had to learn reading and writing outside of castles, temples and monasteries. No one can stop such a progress of history, because way of life and life are mutually determined by their own nature. If life goes on, it will necessarily develop a proper way of life, apt to no other end than life itself.
Due to historical circumstances, any social development will first proceed within the framework of existing legislation, since any power will create such laws, and will make them felt in any state. Still, conformity to law will not make UsRulingUs ineffective or negligible only for this reason. Instead, the new way of life will rather display, where legal instructions are helpful or detrimental.
Amendments and corrections can be achieved by contracts, which need to be obtained in the framework of civil rights. Such results certainly are a question of power relations. So it's decisive, that the structures of GOL or UsRulingUs keep intact (also of their twig associations or successors). The network's knots need to persist, since they are forming, so to speak, the nervous system of the new way of life. Probably upcoming struggles will not aim to shut down the nervous system, but most likely will rather aim to control it. True, it's possible that power might take control for a while, but this must be seen as a nervous disease of the new way of life. If life continues, its nervous system will heal again, to grow stronger in each struggle.
Finally, this common nervous system will need a proper brain, but what could stop life to grow such? If individuals could grow a brain, why shouldn't society be as able as well? It might take several human generations or centuries, but what are these in the view of all life? Only a few moments. If we bow to life on this planet, I think, we will accordingly use this few moments.
