Effects Missing?
How can UsRulingUs take any effects? What's the use of joining such a forum, if it has no power at all?
I think there will be two movements, one arising from theory, imagination or even wishful thinking, the other one coming up from hard life and severe struggle for survival. Both movements shall meet and shape UsRulingUs.
The first movement, the theoretical one, is likely to start among middle classes and intellectuals, unpleased with the actual situation of society. I can imagine millions of worried people honestly studying the situation, trying to find a way out of poverty, crises, wars, hunger, unemployment, public diseases, corruption, suppression, persecution, exploitation, pollution, killing of species and so on. Of course this struggle of mind already exists, but as far as I can see, it still has no common organ. Instead, it keeps being splitted up to spontaneous movements, NGOs, UNO-organisations, funds, institutes, parties, religions, books, papers, universities and schools. The voices become more and are rising, but the song is missing.
UsRulingUs suggests a forum to meet and find common theories and proposals by discussion and voting. Certainly this is not new, but the difference is, that groups can join and build a persisting structure, defending and developing their proposals and decisions, without being obliged to real powers or other obstacles. Mind can work freely on such a forum, and its results will not only remain, but even more important, will grow a social structure too.
This first movement we may call the one from top to bottom, if we accept the fact, that a real top is missing still. No common idea, or concept of social system is showing, existing or accepted yet, but it is certainly overdue in a global scale. So we can say, this is rather a movement from middle to bottom. But even worse, neither the top is found, or arising from amidst, nor the bottom gets actually reached, in a sense to become changed or risen in the historical level of real life. So it is rather a movement circling around its own center, it is caught, has got stuck in a cage of non-effectivity.
If I'm harsh, I might call this first movement ignored from both top and bottom, and many people involved in it feel frustrated and angry. But anyway, this is an absolutely necessary movement of cognition and volition. It needs to come to working results rather soon, to avoid more severe losses, if not a total system failure. Meanwhile we need to be aware of several possible disasters, and must create some organ to decide on chances and dangers as well.
The second movement will not work on a theoretical level, it will not struggle on abstract items, but most likely will start with reports, news and probably shocking insights on the situation, coming in from the suffering ones. We all need to know about, must learn about the social status of the masses, cause this is the only available decisive truth about our social system. Without this knowledge all concepts are bound to fail. Any new social system needs to be completely founded on the actual social status, and must not rely only on programs or theoretical concepts. Theory and practice need to meet at the start and mutually keep amending each other. I think the somewhat known historical attempts failed because theory and practice did not meet. Indeed, theory was to weak, it did not cover the actual practice of life, but forced and corrupted it this way.
As I presume, the second movement will arise only slowly. Not many will join, because they can't see any sence or effect in doing so. UsRulingUs will be unable to help the situation for a long period of time. This is unavoidably true. The reason is, that groups are not build according to their living or working place, so they cannot work together in a country, region, town or village. Still, in the beginning this cannot be else, otherwise persecution would smash the forum and its members right at the start. Members need to be spread to language families, so they can inform and help each other ignoring states, ethnies, religions, parties and other boundaries of mind and social versatility.
Still, groups can join or reshape on a geographical basis, if not too less on mere number. After a proper while, groups can reform themselves according to their surrounding, if all their members and speakers are rooted well enough. At that time UsRulingUs or sections of GOL will be able to help in real life, because political activities and measurements can get concentrated and targeted, while all members globally are watching and acting in solidarity.
To bring both movements together as soon as possible, I suggest to concentrate on labour issues at the start. A global worker's union is overdue, and so is a minimum wage. A consensus on this item seems to me to be rather easy, so many groups can form up in a short time, engaging union's and their instruments. If UsRulingUs or GOL, or similiar associations, help to shape a global union, aligning national torsos and international rumps again, they will gain effectivity broadly seen and accepted. At that time the step to political activities will be a small one.
Finally, the more I consider alternatives, the less I can find them. Maybe UsRulingUs takes a long time to become effective, but it will be hard to remove the meanwhile achieved social structure. It is true, the technical networks might temporarily become infiltrated, controlled and this way destroyed, but once the knowledge and methods are spread, the social structure of the combined groups will become part of life's proceeding. If level-democracy becomes as usual as every day life, no one can take it away any more. So the decisive question is, if level-democracy is apt or not, to create an enduring social system, whose purpose is neither power nor money, but only life itself. UsRulingUs is just a suggestion of how to find it out.
